Tallin – Estonia When Small Is Beautiful And Comfort Is Of Essence
Tallin the capital city of Estonia is an ideal destination for the summer months with temperatures hovering around 70 degrees Fahrenheit during the day however some nights may get as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The winter is cold and unless there is snow the cold rains can be most uncomfortable. Rain gear is an essential part of the attire in Tallin throughout the year. While rain can be unpleasant at times it is the reason for the extensive agricultural industry in Tallin.
Tallin is not a large expansive city but rather is a small compact city with medieval narrow streets. A walking tour is a good way to see much of the city. A Tallin Card gives you access to buses trams and trolleys and free entry to many of the historical sites. This is a less expensive way to get around to the more distant and interesting sites. For an overview of Tallins past the RoccaalMare Open Air Museum is good place to begin. You can easily see St. Olavs Spire once the tallest spire in the world.
Some of the restaurants and hotels in Tallin are more expensive than are others. Many of the restaurants are in the hotels so the cost of food could become a big item. The Tallin International Airport is small yet modern and to update. The trip from the airport to the city by cab is about 70kr100kr. Agree on the price with the driver for the 1020 minute ride before leaving the airport.
