The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is located in the Donald W. Reynolds Visual Arts Center at 415 Couch Drive Oklahoma City OK 73102. The Museum caters to 170000 visitors annually from all over the United States and over 40 other countries. Accredited by the American Association of Museums the Oklahoma City Museum of Art features the most comprehensive collection of Chihuly glass exhibits in the world and a large permanent collection of European and American art. It also features visiting exhibits the Noble Theater the Library Resource Center the Museum School the Museum Store and the Museum Caf.
Exhibits in 2008 included the collections Shining Spirit: Westheimer Family Collection May 11 2007January 20 2008 Mark Klett: Oklahoma City Panorama November 15 2007February 10 2008 Paris 1900 December 20 2007March 2 2008 The Tilghman Print Collection November 23 2007May 11 2008 Seymour Lipton: Drawings February 14May 11 2008 Roman Art from the Louvre June 19October 12 2008 and a collection of impressionist paintings American Impressionism: Paintings from The Phillips Collection November 6 2008January 18 2009. The Museum also plays host to special events such as the weekly Cocktails on the Skyline every Thursday on the roof. Entry is free for members while nonmembers have to pay a small fee.
The Museum School offers classes for students of all ages and skill levels. Summer camps are also arranged. The Noble Theatre shows great international independent and classic films that would appeal to film lovers and general viewers.
One of the most prominent art collections in the Museum is Dale Chihuly: The Exhibition showcasing more than three decades of Chihulys finest work. Prominent in Chihulys glass work on display at the Museum is his tallest installation to date the fiftyfive foot Eleanor Blake Kirkpatrick Memorial Tower.
