Barbados sited near the Caribbean Sea and is the furthest east of all the islands in that region and is famous for its palm trees and white sandy beaches that slope gently into the islands calm and tranquil seas. Popular belief is that the name Barbados means beardedones but there is controversy on where the name actually came from. Some believe it was named after a fig trees long hanging roots and some propose it is named after the foam spraying over the reefs that take the form and the shape of a beard.
